Feed the birds
1S pressed seeds into apples to make bird feeders to support our Science work.
We may have got a little muddy today putting the bird feeders on the trees in the forest.
But we explored the swishy swishy grass, squished in the mud, listened to the birds, balanced on the logs and enjoyed the…

Which material will keep grandma dry?
In Science this afternoon, the children were testing a range of materials to see which one would keep grandma dry. They enjoyed wrapping grandma up in material and then dunking her in the water. The children were very good at saying whether she was wet or dry and if that material would be good…

Science - wet or dry
Early this week, the children in 1B were learning all about wet and dry materials so they got their waterproofs on and enjoyed an afternoon exploring water and materials. Some of the children got very wet but the smiles and laughs shows they had such a good time.

Science - Absorbing Materiels
In science we had a fun lesson with water!
We were checking how absorbent (sucking up liquid into itself) different paper towels were. We followed the scientific process to experiment and found out that the most absorbent was a napkin and the least was a paper towel!
Well Done…

Science
In our science lesson this week we are continued to look at the properties of different materials.
This week we looked at if a material was absorbant- if it soaks up liquids.
We tried lots off different materials and some soaked it up and others didn’t.
Well Done 4S!!!

Hunting for materials
This afternoon we went on a walk around school to look for materials. Miss Brown was really impressed that everyone followed instructions, doing good listening and looking to ensure we all stayed safe. Well done everyone.

Science
In science this week, we were looking at different materials and the properties that these materials possess.
These properties include soft, hard, shiny, dull and stretchy.
We all had a feel of the different materials and said how they felt and what properties they had.
Well done 4S!

STEM
In science we have been working on our STEM skills! We have used LEGO to build and write our own names.
Well Done 4S!

STEM
In our STEM lesson this week we learnt about fingerprints.
We found out that anything we touch has a copy of our fingerprints and that the police use them to help them solve crimes.
We then used ink and sellotape to take a copy of our own fingerprints.
Well done 5J

Lava lamps
Today in science we took part in an experiment in making lava lamps, we created a risk assessment before the experiment took place. Faith said her lava lamp was “very satisfying” and Kristopher suggested to use a touch to create a more lava lamp effect. Mrs Whitworth was very proud of Kristopher…
